About Me

Hi, Iā€™m Stacey, an Endorsed Registered Midwife, Childbirth Educator and the owner of Be Empowered Birth and Parenting. I live in Gippsland with my husband and our two beautiful, energetic children.

I have been a midwife for over 9 years, and during this time have worked in a wide range of settings and hospitals both metropolitan and regional-based. I achieved my midwifery endorsement with AHPRA in 2024, and am now able to offer private midwifery services. I have been running Childbirth Education for some time and have a background in workplace training for over 10 years prior to becoming a Midwife.

Both of my children have been born at home, and both of my births have been the most empowering, amazing, life-altering experiences of my life. For me, the births of my children were a turning point. Too often, women describe their births and early postnatal periods as isolating, traumatic and overwhelming; the exact opposite of what I experienced.

I am passionate about supporting, educating and empowering women and their support persons to enable them to have the most positive birth and early parenting experience possible. My vision is for all pregnant people to approach their births with confidence rather than fear, to know their rights, to feel safe with their care providers and to have a toolbox of practical, evidence-based techniques on hand to help them work through the intensity of labour and birth.

Through my private midwifery services, I am able to offer exceptional continuity of care to Gippsland families. I can provide antenatal care, including ordering any required tests and ultrasounds, consult or refer with other specialists as required, provide homebirth care to those wanting to birth in the comfort of their own environment, or attend your hospital birth as a non-medical support person. After your baby arrives, I am able to provide as much postpartum care as you and your baby need for up to six weeks after birth. My antenatal and postpartum appointments attract a Medicare rebate with a GP referral.
